This year proved to be another successful lit fest in beautiful, hot and sunny Chicago.
Who says people don’t buy books anymore? Judging from the never ending crowd of Chicagoans strolling among the booths, listening to readings and chatting with authors at their tables, it looked like the written word has a future, and a bright one at that.
It is such a pleasure for an author to meet face to face with fans and prospective readers alike. Some who bought Pontvieux’s novel ETA-Estimated Time of Arrest last year came back to the booth to talk, give their feedback and impressions about the story. The only thing they seemed disappointed about was that the sequel to ETA was not for sale yet! Do not despair, Delphine Pontvieux is hard at work and we are confident the sequel will be there for them to buy well before next Printers Row!
Another first at the fair was the very first public presentation of her jewelry collection, Anchor Bracelets.
Many visitors at the fair left with their own one-of-a-kind bracelet, hand-made by Delphine Pontvieux. We will be showcasing her latest work online here soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime, should you want to hear more about the collection, and how to order your custom made piece of jewelry, you can contact her at anchorbracelets@gmail.com to receive a pdf file that explains step-by-step how to design and order your own bracelets from her. (or to order a specific model from her existing collection.)
Check out the photo gallery of the Miss Nyet booth, which we, like the previous years, shared with our good friends at Avendia Publishing.
If you missed the event, order your hardcopy of ETA-Estimated Time of Arrest on our site and Pontvieux will be glad to personalize it for you!
keep on reading, always,
The Miss Nyet Crew
If you happen to be in Chicago this Saturday, be sure not to miss PRINTERS ROW. Now a long-standing perennial event organized by the Chicago Tribune, Printers Row regroups hundreds of Authors, publishers and book sellers in the historic printers row neighborhood in downtown Chicago.
For the complete schedule of events taking place on Saturday (and it is a packed one!), please visit: http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/acrobat/2012-05/70194169.pdf
This year again, Miss Nyet Publishing will be in attendance, along with Delphine Pontvieux who will be present all day Saturday at the booth to sign copies of ETA-Estimated Time of Arrest, and to talk about ETA’s sequel, which we are planning to release in early 2013.
We will also be selling copies of Pintxatu, the super excentric Basque tapas cookbook which comes with a full cd compilation of Basque bands. In lieu of wine pairings, we link each recipe to a song!
You will also get the opportunity to take a peek at Delphine’s brand new unisex jewelry line, the Anchor pin collection, or Points d’Ancrage, for the first time.
We are looking forward to seeing you all to chat a while and enjoy the weather, which promises to be warm and sunny.
Miss Nyet will be located on Polk street -under a tent booth, this year-, alongside Avendia Publishing.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
As much as we hope to think this is an exaggeration, this statement could, some day, become a reality.
Regardless, we invite you to watch this video which explains step-by-step how a book is traditionally made. We wanted to share this video, which shows the incredible amount of hard work it takes to create a book, and the love that goes into making it.

While she is hard at work on her second novel, Delphine Pontvieux also penned a short story titled “Vertical Horizons.”
“It takes a long time to write a book, especially when the writer’s me,” says Pontvieux. “As a reader myself, I also understand how frustrating it can be to wait for a favorite author’s next book to come out. This is, in part, the reason why I decided to release a few original short stories over the course of the year to help shorten the wait until my second novel is published, and to thank my readers for their patience and dedication.”
“Vertical Horizons” tells the story of Costi, a young Romanian, who comes to Paris to find the job that will pay for the bills back home. He had to overcome his fear of heights to get the coveted position.
From his vantage point, the city of Paris is sprawled at his feet. Yet, Costi refuses to see its true beauty. He left his heart behind in Transylvania, but is it where it really belongs?
“Vertical Horizons” is a tale of heartbreak, but also of resilience and hope, which shows beyond doubt that for everyone, there is a better tomorrow.
“Vertical Horizons” is available here in digital format on Amazon.
